Excellence Awards 2011
At the Gala Dinner held in Conjunction with the Institute’s National Convention in Brisbane on 8-11th September the Awards for Excellence for 2011 were presented before Members and their Guests.
Candidates were judged by a Committee made up of the Presidents of the 5 State Chapters of the Institute and rated on Customer Service, Industry and Personal development as well as Settled Business Sales for the 2010 Financial Year.
AIBB Rookie Business Broker of the Year Award - Brad Potter
Winner of the AIBB Rookie Business Broker of the Year Award (for Business Brokers with under 3 years Industry experience) for 2011 went to Brad Potter from Western Australia. Brad commenced Business Broking in 2008 and completed 23 Transactions for his Clients with an enviable record of Customer Service on behalf of his Clients. AIBB Senior Business Broker of the Year Award - Iain Horne
Winner of the AIBB Senior Business Broker of the Year Award (for Business Brokers with over 3 years Industry experience) Award for 2011 went to Iain Horne from Queensland. Iain has built an excellent practice over the past few years and completed 23 Transactions with a variance of only 1.5% from the Listing price to the Actual Sales Price across all transactions. He is recognised as the ‘go to’ person by both Buyers and Sellers in his specialist field and has mentored many new entrants into the Business Transfer Industry. Presidents Award for Exemplary Service - Joe Kafrouni
Winner of the AIBB Presidents Award for Exemplary Service went to Joe Kafrouni from the Law firm Kafrouni Law who has worked tirelessly on a Pro Bono basis for the Institute over the 2010 year. Joe has taken the lead role on the Institutes behalf in its successful actions through both the ACCC and the Office of Fair Trading to improve industry practices across the board. Joe is an Affiliate Member of the Institute, an AIBB Guest Lecturer and sits on the Queensland State Executive Committee.
