Registered Business Valuer Course 2016

PROVISIONAL INFORMATION

Introduction

The AIBB Registered Business Valuers (RBV) chapter has developed the only course designed for valuing Small to Medium Enterprises (SME) in Australia, to achieve realistic valuations for:

a.       The sale of businesses for both vendors and purchasers;

b.       Banks and financial institutions to finance acquisitions;

c.        Disputes in the dissolution of the partnerships and marriages;

d.       Calculating stamp duties and the capital gains liabilities;

e.       Compulsory acquisition by Government Authorities;

f.        Expert witnesses in legal disputes

In this course, participants are presented with topics in the context of  SME business valuations

The 2016 course is to be held over the February to June 2016, with a final assignment due by  22nd July 2016.

The course will be presented over 3 x 3 day units at intervals of about 4 to 6 weeks with a student assignment in the intervening periods. Students must attend all three units and successfully complete the final assignment

 The Course will be held at Bond University on the Gold Coast.

Course Objective

To enable participants to develop their knowledge, skills and capabilities in the Valuation of the Business Assets of Small to Medium Enterprises and to qualify to become recognised professional Business Valuers in a register maintained by the AIBB for reference by potential Clients

Course Selection Criteria

Applicants are to have;

1.       a minimum of 5 years recent experience as a current full time practicing business broker,

2.       be a current paid up member of the AIBB and

3.       have completed the AIBB Certified Practicing Business Broker accreditation.

A verification of 5 years recent business broking experience is also required. A Statutory Declaration to that effect is to be completed as part of this application

Course Fee

The fee includes presentation of all course materials and detailed course notes by experienced lecturers, text books, meals and refreshments during the proceedings and individual professional assessment of all assignments but excludes any cost of remarking.

The fee for 2016 is $5,320 + GST ($5,852)
